Expedition to the Biosphere Sian Kaan
We will take a van to the Sian Kaán Biosphere Reserve, at the Muyil community, where a Mayan Family will receive us and show us about their traditions and way of life, including the process of tortilla making. Then we will visit the archaeological site of Muyil-Chunyaxché, which was an important commercial center until five hundred years ago. Next is a walk through the Canan Ha trail, where we will see the impressive diversity of plants and animals that the jungle offers. We’ll the board a boat at the Muyil lagoon and go on a nature observation cruise through the wetlands, natural habitat of to different species of birds, reptiles and mammals. Throughout the trip, our guide will talk about the flora and fauna of these ecosystems and their importance for the biosphere. We will visit a canal in which you will be able to swim downstream and refresh yourself from the heat. After the boat ride, we will go to the beaches of Tulum, where we will have a fresh lunch in front of the sea. Following that, a short ride will take us to a fresh water inland cenote, where we will snorkel in its beautiful crystal clear waters - an experience you will never forget.
